![]() Ireland is the perennial beginner zone in Paradox games and it remains the case here, too. There are thousands of lives out there just waiting for you to explore. Bored of Scandinavian tribal wars? Go ahead and take over as the new Maharaja of Pala. (Note that if you are playing with Ironman rules, the option to switch characters is disabled.) Losing a war against the King of England? There’s no shame in switching characters to be the King of England. Yes, that’s right, at any moment you can hit ESC to pull up the pause menu, select “Switch Character” and you’re free to continue the current campaign as the existing ruler of another realm. Perhaps the most obvious indication that Crusader Kings 3 is not a game about winning and more about enabling players to craft unique storylines is the ability to play as a different person whenever you like. As of 1066, in this example, Emperor Heinrich IV is your boss, essentially, and so tending to that relationship may well be even more important than dealing with your brother. Meanwhile, Bohemia itself is merely one duchy within the greater Holy Roman Empire. Indeed, given he has claims on all your holdings, he is probably going to be your biggest rival. But even though your brother Konrad is the count of a nearby county, you can’t simply tell him what to do. So when you choose to play as Duke Vratislav of Bohemia, you oversee a handful of counties around Prague and have claims on a couple of others. And three, CK3 is more interested than it's ever been in providing an opportunity for novice players to enjoy its myriad charms. The retro-style analog synth score (composed and performed by Jeremy Schmidt – a member of Canadian psychedelic rock band Black Mountain) – is unsettling to say the least. With the film taking place in 1983, the cinematography by Norm Li employs old-school 35mm celluloid (rather than HD digital) – which gives the image the suitably grainy appearance of a film from that period. And there are many startlingly surreal moments here – the reveal of the child-like face of the robotic ‘sentionaut’ the melting heads in Nyle’s acid flashback the room containing limbless mutants and finally Nyle revealing his true self – a nod to The Man Who Fell To Earth perhaps? The Kubrickian minimalism of the production design incorporating the austerity of George Lucas’ THX 1138 and the gaudy oversaturated color of Dario Argento’s Suspiria creates a look and feel which is entirely unique and unforgettable. It’s about 40 pages long and has generic information on the design requirements for connectors and includes references for the types and quality of materials to be used and the performance tests that have to be met and the test equipment configurations to do the tests. There are US standards and European standards, commercial standards and military standards, and broadcast standards and proprietary standards. We don’t think much about it but it’s kind of amazing that you can buy these inexpensive and precise little microwave parts, one device at one place and another device at another place, and they actually fit together and perform well. If you took apart the swept elbow connector you would find that the dielectric inside is continuous between the two ends. ![]() It's because the dielectric typically is not continuous at the 90 degree junction, so there is some parasitic inductance there that screws up the VSWR. If you took apart a 90 degree elbow you'd see why. In general, the swept connectors are better at high frequencies, and the outer jackets are molded rather than machined. ![]() Right-angle connectors come in two types: 90 degree, and swept (see photo below). The term "elbow" is another bit of connector slang, it means a right-angle bend connector or adapter. See the equation for the characteristic impedance of coax at coaxial transmission lines, or go straight to the coax calculator. Don't mix these up!) All connector families described on this page are 50 ohms unless otherwise noted. Most microwave systems use a 50 ohm characteristic impedance but some use 75 ohms (BEWARE! Some connector families, such as type N, come in both 50 ohms and 75 ohms. Microwave coaxial connectors are used to make low VSWR coaxial connections, and can be used as the terminations ("ends") of coaxial cables, installed into housings, and increasingly onto circuit cards. One thing that was quickly apparent was the lack of audio technology. And drive it I did, setting off on an odyssey of about 900 miles over the course of four days. A few days before my 40th birthday, the car came together and I got to get out and drive it around. A tremendous amount of time was spent simply disassembling chrome parts, cleaning and polishing, and putting things back together. The car needed a ton of work to get road worthy, and it took a little over two years of working on weekends and when paychecks would allow to rebuild brakes, steering, suspension, carburetor, generator, and refurbish the cooling system. As best I can tell, it was parked in 1968, attempted to get back on the road in 1989, and then nothing. When the opportunity to acquire an unrestored 1962 Thunderbird that showed just 83,000 miles on its six-digit odometer came up, I jumped in. All that chrome and those crazy rear lights really made an impact on me, and I never really let go of that infatuation. I remember going to the weekly car meetup and seeing a red 1961 Thunderbird with a matching red vinyl interior when I was probably about 12. ![]() I have had an obsession with the Bullet Bird since childhood. ![]() Massive chrome bumpers and stainless steel trim that runs from the front to the rear do not have the bland factory appearance many people associate with original cars, and the odd lines certainly do not look like early 1960s designs most people are familiar seeing. The irony of the Bullet Bird is that when car show attendees see one of these now-uncommon cars, they generally believe the vehicle to be some sort of custom. Driveable, low-mileage, unrestored cars can be had for less than $10,000, and for restorers looking to resuscitate the carcass of a Bullet Bird, cars can be had for less than $1,000. While prices of second- and fourth-generation Thunderbirds have shot up in recent years, the Bullet Bird has languished in the “not worth restoring” category. The Bullet Birds have never made that leap. Many classic cars start out under-appreciated or even undesirable, only to become rare and desirable, if for no reason other than their quirky history. In 1964, Ford returned to a squared-off styling with the fourth-generation Thunderbird. Sales were decent, but did not meet the record-setting figures of the previous generation, known as the “Square Birds.” Features like the swing-away steering wheel and the all-new 390 cubic inch V8 engine simply did not bridge the gap between how drivers wanted a car to look and what the new Thunderbird looked like. The decidedly munitions-shaped car earned the nickname “Bullet Bird.” The oversized, round, chrome taillights stand out, looking like nothing less than jet turbine engines and are a true thing of beauty at night. The new design was unlike anything on the road at the time, which certainly lived up to the company advertising slogan -”Unmistakably New, Unmistakably Thunderbird.” The car featured a long, low profile with a distinctly pointed front end that tapered away to tiny fins in the rear. The question here is: Is it acceptable to use type F, or you should change to better options, Dexron? Then, it (Dexron II) is followed by Dexron III and Dexron VI, respectively. However, Dexron II was later used in place of Type F. This type of transmission fluid was designed for automatic transmissions built before 1977, as well as most of the models from 1977 to 1980.
